In conjunction with this International Women’s Day, KL City Art Gallery is presenting a contemporary selection of work by 19 female artists from March 25-April 9, 2022.
Every year on March 8, International Women’s Day celebrates the accomplishments of women in all aspects of their lives and the society they live in. Despite decades of structural oppression, women have made their mark on every continent irrespective of their economic, political, social, or cultural background.
This year’s theme for the occassion is #BreakTheBias, in a bid to create a world that treats genders equally and is inclusive as well as equitable. In that regard, the goal of IWD 2022 is not only to celebrate women’s achievements, but also to raise awareness against the bias among women.
Behind the scenes, KL City Art Gallery has organised two hi-tea sessions featuring roundtable discussion on women issues and current developments. We hope to share with the wonderful revelations that we learned together in our upcoming posts, that we may all learn from one another in a collaborative effort to Break The Bias!
