
Juhari Said
Juhari Said gained his formal art education from MARA University of Technology (UiTM) graduating in 1983. Eight years later, he won the Permodalan Nasional Berhad Prize and the main prize in the printmaking category at Salon Malaysia.
The artist has received research grants to work in Paris .as well as in Japan. The latter was awarded by The French Government and Japan Foundation. He studied Japanese printmaking in Tokyo with artist Yoshisuke Funasaka. In 2008, he was appointed as a Creative Fellow by University Sains Malaysia. He was also been awarded the Anugerah Karyawan Seni 2009 by the Ministry of Unity, Culture, Arts, and Heritage Malaysia. In 2011, Juhari was selected to be the first three artist-in-residence at the University of Malaya.
To date, Juhari has held 12 solo exhibitions locally and abroad, participated in over a hundred local and international exhibitions. Juhari works from Akal di Ulu, his abode located in Hulu Langat, Selangor.
